Overview
Cellamie helps you manage pantry inventory, scan receipts, receive reminders, and access subscription features. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it is shared, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, password hash, account identifiers, session and refresh tokens, and email verification state.
- Profile and preference information: if you choose to provide it, your name, location, cooking skill level, dietary preferences, allergen selections, cuisine preferences, appliances, kitchen essentials, notification settings, and timezone.
- Pantry and receipt data: pantry items, quantities, units, categories, expiry dates, store or vendor details, manually entered content, and receipt-derived item details you save.
- Photos and scan submissions: receipt images and similar scan inputs that you choose to upload for processing.
- Subscription and purchase verification data: product identifiers, transaction identifiers, receipt or purchase-token data, entitlement status, and related store webhook records.
- Device and technical data: push registration tokens, device name, app version, build number, operating system version, timezone, IP address, user agent, and security or audit metadata needed to operate the service.
- Support communications: messages, screenshots, and attachments you send to us when asking for help.
Camera and receipt scanning
Cellamie requests camera access only when you choose features such as receipt scanning or image capture. Receipt images are uploaded so we can extract item and purchase details. We use the extracted data to help you review and save pantry entries.
Receipt images are processed to support the scan flow and are not intended to become a long-term image library. If you confirm a scan, the extracted receipt and pantry data may be stored with your account. Short-lived staging data may be retained briefly to support review flows.
How we use data
- Create and manage your account.
- Authenticate you and protect account security.
- Store and sync pantry, profile, receipt, and preference data across your devices.
- Process receipt scans, product recognition, reminders, and recipe or meal-planning features.
- Provide subscription access and purchase verification.
- Deliver notifications you enable.
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot service issues.
- Maintain reliability, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal data and we do not disclose it for third-party advertising. We share information only with service providers and platform operators that help us run Cellamie.
- Infrastructure providers such as Microsoft Azure for hosting, storage, data protection, and operational monitoring.
- Push notification providers such as Firebase Cloud Messaging so alerts can be delivered to your device.
- Email delivery providers for verification, password reset, and support-related transactional email.
- App-store billing platforms such as Apple and Google for subscription purchases, renewals, refunds, and entitlement verification.
- Feature providers used to power scanning, recognition, and AI-assisted flows, such as Azure Document Intelligence, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, Imagen, or OpenFoodFacts when enabled for a given feature.
Subscriptions and billing data
Payments are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive transaction metadata, receipt or purchase-token data, entitlement status, and related webhook events so paid features work correctly and fraud or duplicate purchases can be managed.
Data retention
We retain account, pantry, receipt-confirmation, and preference data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Short-lived staging data used during receipt or scan review is retained only briefly. Certain operational records, such as security logs, store webhook events, or subscription verification artifacts, may be retained for a limited period for fraud prevention, troubleshooting, compliance, and legal requirements.
If you delete your account, we delete active account content associated with it, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, billing reconciliation, backup cycles, or legal obligations.
Your choices and rights
- Update or correct certain profile and pantry information in the app.
- Disable camera or notification permissions at the device level.
- Request account deletion through the app or by following the Account Deletion instructions.
- If local law gives you additional rights to access, correct, delete, object to, or restrict certain processing, you can contact us to exercise those rights.
Children's privacy
Cellamie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will investigate and delete the information if appropriate.
International processing
Depending on where you use Cellamie and which providers support a feature, your information may be processed in countries other than your own. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different data protection laws.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
